Gyokuro Green Tea

Tea is known for its benefits to health. Probably not those cheapo liptons or kopitiamones but even these might have some beneficial properties. Anyway, I just ordered some"Gucci" "Prada" "LV" gyokuro green tea from japan. It was considered a luxury item even locally.

Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), an antioxidant found in green tea, is at least 100 more times more effective than vitamin C and 25 times more effective than vitamin E at protecting cells and DNA from damage believed to be linked to cancer, heart disease and other serious illnesses. This antioxidant has twice the benefits of resveratrol, found in red wine.

Green tea have benefits like reduces high blood pressure, lowers blood sugars/cholestrol, boost immune system and weight loss. But how effective and how much consumption for how longto have effects not really known.

I am quite a tea person so decided to get it after I tried a sachet. The fragrance isawesome and quite heavy though it was describe as less aromatic than sencha, another kind of green tea. Till the 5th or 6th refill, the taste is still there.

Cost about $19 USD for a bag of 12 sachets :) www.japanesegreenteaonline.com

I really enjoy gyokuro. This is a Japanese green tea that is grown in the shade. This type of tea has very little tannins and virtually no bitterness. I enjoy the light sweetness of it and the bright green infusion.
