陶 Modern Pacific Cuisine
Had dinner at 陶 before the movie, first time going there though heard about it a few times. Actually was attracted by the "live" band outside the al fresco dining area, belting out chinese pop songs, but too bad coz we walked in .... no seats outside.
So basically, I think the menu is fixed as you can only eat the 7 course set dinner, not sure if you can just order ala carte but don't think it will be worth it also. Can't take pictures coz my damn n70 is still recuperating at nokia ... crap crap crap !!! Sigh
Back to the food, appetizer, salad, soup, main course, dessert, beverage. Choosing from each was quite easy, no choice for the appetizer though, it was bacon gratin with toast, you spread the bacon stuff on your toast, toast is unlimited though. And there is this raspberry sorbet shot that starts everything which was suppose to increase our appetite.
I had the italian something salad, nothing special about this one. The fruit salad looks interesting though. Next is the soup, pumpkin soup for me ... and it turns out nice nice. Oven toasted steak was my main dish, it was a thick piece of steak, which part of the moo moo not sure though. Came with a tiny tomato, broccoli and mashed pumpkin with a taro chip. The steak was normal but the spicy stingray is nice !
Somewhere along the way, came the grilled mushroom, usually I don't like mushroom because of its smell but this one taste quite good and with the teriyaki like sauce makes it tasty.
Creme brulee was my dessert, I like it ! And summer peach tea was my drink, came in a little transparent pot and a tiny cup for you to drink from, quite unique.
Was full in the end, every item was sized to a nice portion, $28.80++ for all that ... Hmmmmmm ... not cheap but is like you tasted alot of dishes in one go.
Decent place, not to mention the service was quite good. Some servers even try to crack jokes with us, funny or not ? not really important :)
A place that can come again but next time should be outside listening to the nice songs
