EPL 07/08

It will cost $25 to watch EPL matches on top of your basic subscription.

Significant transfers were going on. Big spendings or numerous transfers for clubs. Gillette boys bought over Liverpool. A politically handicapped but still rich Thaksin took over Man City. But ferguson, mourihno, wenger, benitex, jol are still at helm respectively.

Chelsea
Spend the least comparing to their past season spree. Sidwell, Ben Haim, Pizzaro all came onboard free. With Robben somehow buay song, Malouda was brought in to add some flair. Robben impending departure to Real Madrid seems near. Shevchenko is still around despite strong rumours he will be back at Milan. Terry renewed his contract to become the highest paid player in England at $135,000 pounds a week. A definite challenge for the title !!!

Man United
Big spendings. Wonder where they get the money or probably is like Courts "Pay $1 and drive away with your purchase" kinda of deal. Owen Hargreaves finally joined but he is defensive so Carrick will get some challenge ? Brazilian Andersen and Portugese Nani also came along for about $30 million pounds, alot of money !!! Smith should be joining Sam at Newcastle and Rossi went to Villareal. Nani touted as the next Ronaldo, so we have 2 "Ronaldos" ? 1 left ? 1 right ?
New players ... New formation ? Retaining title depends how well the team gels.

Liverpool
Disappointment season after season. Long gone were the glory days. But when will it rekindle such records again, new owners, huge funds but lack of targets to buy or Benitez is just biased ?
Weeks of rumours and pressure on who will Liverpool buy and in fact they do need injection of raw quick talents. Torres joined for $20 million pounds. 8 new signings. Major ones will be Voronin, Babel, Benayoun, Lucas. With Zenden, Cisse, Bellamy, Fowler, Garcia, Dudek out, some spring cleaning was done. Looks like a do or die mission for Benitez, though early news of no promise of success was already out. Very much will lies on how Torres perform, he is not even doing that well in Spain, doubts are casting over how many will he scores.

Arsenal
Henry finally left. As the likes of Petit, Pires and Vieria, who formed the france contingent in Arsenal which brought them EPL titles. Croatian forward Eduardo Silva was bought in for about $10 million pounds. Never heard of him till Arsenal got him, so with Adebayor and Van Persie. Arsenal will be looking at them to bring in goals. Bendtner returns from loan will fight for a place. Don't forget so called wonder kid Walcott, my view was he disappoint last season. Lehmann is already 37, probably play another season. Polish Lubias Fabianski was brought in, maybe to understudy him. Bakary Sagna's pace and Gibbs's nice touches caught my attention during their match against Inter. With a huge gap left behind by Henry to fill, either someone steps up or a consistent team performance should pose threats to Man U and Chelsea.

Tottenham
Go ! Go ! Go ! My favourite team ! Berbatov was a steal last season comparing to what he contributed. Keane was excellent with his brillance on and off. Midfield was patchy and as of defence leaking too many goals. Numerous signings for 07/08. The one that caught the attention will be Darren Bent, Well ... he is good but for $18 million pounds ? I am hoping he can proved that ! Relegated Charlton must be smiling all the way. Bale, Taarabt, Kaboul and Kevin Boateng joined along the way. All are very young and had been Jol's plan to bring in youngster. Defoe had a patchy last season, not sure how long he will stay with Bent's arrival. The Egyptian duo went to Birmingham. A convincing win against Sunderland will be a good start to verify any threats Spurs will be offering this season.
