Saturday Dinner@Waruku

Waruku again !??!?!? Not that its food is so good and I had it few weeks back. Never mind ... I tried what I wanted to try this time round.

The rice and udon/soba combi set. I got the salmon roe rice and cream scallop udon with cheese which comes in bowl size that makes you think you are in midget land !! The salmon roe rice with shredded omelette nothing fantastic but the roe did give some crunch bite when it goes with the rice.

It is the cream cheese udon that taste good, the cream sauce gives just enough creamy taste but not too overwhelming, with a bit slight sweet taste, just abit. With the shredded cheese, it adds some oohmmm to it. Scallops are quite big and fresh because it doesn't give you those "fishy" taste. The thick udon are Q and goes well with the rest.


The starters of BBQ squid and Potato Mentai with cheese. The latter is a must mention, comes in a small hotplate, piping hot and it is starchy, cheesy and you get to taste the potato with some crunch, probably from the mentai. The BBQ squid is abit tough, but it is abit better after it gets heated up under the fire.



My friend tried the beef paper pot set, same as the one that I had last time but his is a set and also the miso soup base he chosen. The miso soup base is full of soya sauce and some herbal taste, makes it abit different but nice.


The tempura ice cream dessert is like fried ice cream but the outer pastry like crust has a creamy smell and taste. The mini ice creams are average but it comes in bite size flavours.
