John Rambo : Rambo 4

Again. Manage to squeeze in Laobo 4 between my weekends job. At least this time round, no more head spinning or puke controlling shit thingie.

It was just simple mindless killing, severed limbs, chopped heads, blood everywhere, people yelling in languages we do not understand, etc.

Not sure the intention of why a needless 4th instalment was shot, disregard the storyline which was simply not important.

Some church group urged Laobo to ferry them up to Burma jungle so that they can bring supplies to the local people.

After some bo liao, initial no, ding dong, then yes. They were brought there and of course captured by the soldiers. So the church group paid some mecernaries to go and save them, this "more like odd job labourers" mercernaries went with Laobo.

Then the more hiong killings starts ...

The mercenaries wanted to back up after knowing there were about few hundreds soldiers. They were at the village where the church group was captured, soldiers came and started playing their "usual game" with their victims. Throwing mind fields along a water filled field, victims were force to run across while they betted who will kena "KA BOOM" first.

Laobo appeared and arrowed them to death in "Saw 4" style with "Legolas" swiftness !!! Then they ventured to the army camp where they attempt to save the church group people. And knowing to very few people, Laobo knew "少 林 大 力 金 刚 指 ", in one scene, he almost wrenched the head off one of the commanders.

Lastly, Laobo got hold of the heavy duty machine gun on top of a rover and started letting off limitless rounds of aummunitions. You see humans tortillas in salsa sauce everywhere. 7/10.

Amazing Race vs Corporate World !!!

Coming to 2 months into new job !!! A "Ponder" last week, more will come as more hell is expected. Maybe not as hell as this week but probably different kind of hell. Before you start implementing something, probably you get some leeway to dily daly, cho bos ( If you have only that something to do ), but as the leeway gets shorter or those dust swept under the carpet gets discovered, then hell starts.

It seems that the vicious cycle follows doesn't matter where you go, difference is the intensity of the viciousness. Humans is the weakness, all kinds of characters, when mixed together, may combust, spark, ignite, no reaction, taiji, ti xiao etc.

Now I know where amazing race get the brilliant idea, from the cruel, realistic, idiotic, KT corporate world.

AR Detour
2 tasks. 1 looked easy but probably take longer time to complete. The other seems hard or unorthodox but could be key if you somehow can complete it.
CW Detour
Example, you might need to translate existing to new. To do that, you are given a huge sets of numbers/configuration to digest, and an area which probably you are not expert in. You can do it alone, probably can do it but longer time. Or you can ask someone who is more familiar for help and of course usually shorter and more accurate.
CW Detour Reality Check
Since it is huge, people ignore or assume someone already taking care of it. When reality check, "Eh, seems like no one is really looking into this wor", then come panic, last min, get help, etc.
The hard part is getting someone more familiar to help from the beginning.

AR Route Marker
These are in between destinations that gives you further instructions, supposedly moves you forward.

These comes in the form of meetings, emails, conference calls, etc.

These will only be useful if the people involved in these are actually performing the actual physical tasks itself. Example, 10 people might be attending the meeting or 20 people in the email either "To" or "Cc", but only 2 persons are actually doing the physical work.

It is a chance for a team to stop another team for a period of time.

These are external factors you are diffiult to control which lengthen your time to perform a task.

For a simple task, you could be detered by several issues. Sometimes it just drains you off and make no logical sense.

A task where only 1 member can perform.

This is very common due to reason that people not doing the actual task simply ignores or had no choice but to pray that God, Allah, Buddha, or luck whoever will aid.

There is only so much 1 person can perform at any given time. Even David Copperfield need to cancel his show in Singapore when he is strucked with a sexual legal tussle.

AR Fast Forward
An option for teams to use. If somehow a team finds a FF, they can use it to skip all tasks.

Escalate. If a certain task really do not move, people escalate. It could because you really do not have the skill or not within your jurisdiction.

The more levels, politics, humans it involved, the harder escalation is. If I can TXTG, why would I attempt to put extra effort and probably will get negative impact in the end.

AR Pit Stop
Destination. Every team must reach here no matters what unless probably if you "Kong Ka Kiao".

It is a major milestone or the actual end. You will reach here no matter during the journey, how much stress, how much tired, how much grievance suffer, how much KTness, etc.

Why reach here in such a KT manner if you can do it "Free & Easy" ? I have the answer to this. Very much simply that you can never do it "Free & Easy" !!!!!

Cloverfield

Still managed to catch a movie on friday night despite a godzilla week at work, posting this review 2 days late because hell still continues after friday. Finger crossed that probably after cny that it will be more managable.

Back to the movie ...

I underestimated the f*cking shaking camera. It was ultimate motion sickness, giddiness, control puking, etc. I knew it was filmed by a handheld camera but didn't know every damn shot was shaking !!! Monster attacked Manhatten still is a attractive theme.

I can't say much though as after about 15 mins into the movie, simply buay sai liao.

Had to keep my eyes closed and blocked the light that was simply fluttering from the screen.

The only 2 noticeable items was the pretty girl, Beth and the monster which I caught few glimspe towards the end.

Started with Beth half naked in bed, then some party to send off Jason, then pandemonium, loud explosions, people running, chaos.

All these till the guy Hud who was arrowed to film the whole party then somehow also film the whole monster attack, he was, i think eaten by the monster.

The MS went away after about 3 hours, it was abit KT, should have gone for 3:10 to Yuma.

Ponder ...

How many people are really waking up everyday wanting to do their work ? In today's society, I believe it probably will be a miserable truth. Most people are too focus on their work either busy clearing work or busy avoiding work, so this focus is not allowing any space to stop and think, what is it really that I like to do ?

But sadly, reality and "like to do" are worlds apart. Nevertheless, there are still people who are enjoying best of both worlds. And even one's "like to do" could be a common job but as it coupled with processes, policies, people, politics, pain in the ass, etc. It just became a challenge and if even a simple ordinary task becomes a challenge, people starts to hate it, avoid it, or at best just do it. This engulfs in a vicious cycle, more vicious if it involves more PPPPP.

So as most people holds office jobs but yearns to be "others", it starts to distance away. Year 2008 is becoming busier and busier as days gets by for me. Though I liked the challenge not because I "eat full full no shit to shit", but simply felt these few years seems crucial to up my own self value. It is a cruel world outside, so .....

Alien v Predator 2

Mindless killing, blood everywhere, bodies part here and there, etc.

If you like hideous faced creatures in suits with numerous add-ons gadgets hunting big headed monsters in the dark, you have to watch it.

No playing games this round, movie started straight where it ended last time.

In the spaceship of the predators, a hybrid was about to be "born".

This avp hybrid killed the Ps and the ship crashed land onto earth, here it goes all the mindless killing and hunting. Before one of the last P got killed, he send some kind of "may day" signal out. So another P from their planet got the call, probably he on "standby", he bo bian took another shuttle like capsule and shoot off to earth.

Some father and son who were hunting saw the crash landing. Went to the crashed site. Of course they died and got hybrided. BUT WHY ?!?!? WHY ?!?!??! IN MILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF NAMES EVER IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND .... WHY THE SON MUST BE NAMED SaMe ?!?!??!?!

Then the so called main cast of people who supposed to fight back starts getting on the scene. Some guy who just got out of jail, his brother and his damn hot ex-gf, a mother who just return home from "probably iraq", etc.

The suay ka P was getting the upper hand all the way, eliminating the As one by one with his nifty and powerful gadgets. But the As breed in numbers, so it has to come to this final showdown, where the hybrid of As Ps and human went against the suay ka P.

Both looked the same because of the AP hybrid elements, they squared off on the rooftop of the hospital. This allowed the main fighting group to escape in the heli. The P has to take off his mask, probably to tell people why he need to wear one. Damn hideous and probably why they have to live on another planet.

Because of the swift and quick deaths, the so called national guard was called in. And people were conned into going to the city centre where they expect an air lift. Well, the air did came but it also dropped a bomb, enough the wipe out the survivors and of course the suay ka P and whatever As that were left.

The heli crashed and the guards caught them. And definitely a third instalment is coming. Not as bad as what LIFE rated in the papers. 6/10

Fireworks@Cafe Del Mar

Cafe Del Mar. The famous club that opened its outlet in Singapore, first time there since it was in Singapore. The entrance brings you to its restaurant and then leads out to the pool area and beach.

Numerous round sofa beds and squarish beach beds filled the pool deck area and the sandy beach. Minimum spendings of min $100 to use any of them. But the beach area are pretty much occupied oredi, even we are there before 10.

The place was not crowded but if you drop by late then probably you can't get a seat to sit. Another thing is quite alot of As, KLKs and behind us was a big sofa area where we were being KTrize.

One of the As infront of us kept diving into the jacuzzi pool and was warned by the security, not sure why wor, probably you can use the jacuzzi but can't dive into it.

One very nice thing was there was fireworks !!! At about 11:50 pm, the sky was brighten and crowd awe in front of the beautiful fireworks. Though not as good as the one I saw at esplanade few yrs back, that one was really good.

Then came the 10, 9, 8, 7 .... 3, 2, 1. The crowd was sporadic so it was like people celebrating within their own little groups. Anyway, then came the so called don't know what DJ, spinning dance music, not really our cup of tea.

Only a few dived into the pool after the countdown and couldn't bring my feets to move with the music. We went back to our seats after going down to the pool and beach area. Found out that our drinks and finger food was gone !! There are still food and some champange left .. Haiz. Don't know why they so fast hand for what ... Not as if alot of people are eyeing for seats.

In the end, they gave us another calamari and wings with discount on another bottle of champange. First time on champange, don't really like it, tasted carbonated, siap siap and like difficult to down.

Left about at 2+. It is a good club to come if you like the outdoors and like the kind of music.

New Year Eve Dinner@The Turqoise Room

Second time to the turqoise room at lock road. Quite liked this place and decor, different from normal restaurant which looked like restaurant. Tucked away in Gilman Village, opposite HP at Alexandra road.

The bluey patterns on the wall gives a calm and peaceful feel. It is quiet and a great place to chill out.

Good that they have ala carte as well for eve. The eve set menu is about $88++ per pax .. Ex. Probably it could be worth it but still ex. The food selection has a variety. Pasta, sandwiches, pizzas and a few main courses.

Decided on pumpkin soup and slipper lobster linguine ....

The soup turned out to be more like of paste. Somehow, but it still taste quite good. I still like the pumpkin soup at Tao restaurant.

Here comes the linguine ! It looked goods and taste very good, I liked it. Not the normal tomato or cream sauce ones. The cherry tomatoes were good and so was the slipper lobster. Liked the way linguine was seasoned with the whatever sauce.

The penne with mushroom sauce and some kind of sliced cheese looked goods too. The thinly sliced cheese gives the ooohmmm cheesy taste.

Still have room for desserts. Not much of a choice though. Chewy Fudgy Brownie with a scoop of Gelato and Tiramisu on their way ! Haiz .. Forgot to take the bideo. Loved the brownie, you can taste the cakey, chewy and chocolatey taste in every bite. And with the hazelnut ice cream, goes well.

With a glass of wine, comes up to about $45 per pax.
