Friday Dinner@Ishi Mura

It is a food court that sells Japanese food and at reasonable price. You get okonomiyaki, ramen, pizza, curry items, sashimi and sushi, bento, bbq items. This one is much better than the one at Tampines One in terms of price and variety.

This is my house special ramen which is basically seafood ramen. At $6.90, this is good. You get prawn, scallops, char siew, sea weed and poached egg. Soup is savoury enough, not too saltish, noodles are decent but the chilli is good, compliments the ramen.

Salmon sashimi, you get about 20 pieces for $15. Fresh and quite good but it will be better if the slices are thicker ... maybe I too greedy. The pizzas here are also good and at decent prices. This unagi pizza is only $6.90 and you get about 6 to 7 decent pieces. There is a layer of egg after the thin crust which adds something different because the crust is crispy and other ingredients are savoury.

Saturday Dinner@Soon Heng Steamboat

I believe this is still quite new, located just opposite Jalan Besar Stadium. It offers buffet ala carte style steamboat.

The thing about steamboat is the soup base, Soon Heng has chicken, tom yum, 麻辣, 六味, herbal, laksa .. Got one more, couldn't remember but only first 3 is included in the buffet price.

The rest you have to add $5 which still is reasonable.

The choice is chicken and laksa !

But somehow you don't get the select what you want to eat on the first round, they serve a default set, which doesn't really matters. Vege, golden mushrooms, beef, pork, chicken, all kinds of balls, pork liver, mushrooms, fish glue, prawns came. And a must mention is they served some cooked food like fried chicken wing, beef/pork korean style, deep fried tofu. The stuff are fresh and served up really fast, you need to go to Mcdonalds if you want anything faster. Like the beef which is sliced and rolled into small pieces when served. The laksa soup is really good, initial thought was it is lacking enough coconut milk, but not really, just the right spicy and laksa taste.



The deep fried tofu is nice, soft and bland on the inside but crispy and savoury on the outside. And of course the fried chicken wings, these are must try ! Not the usual prawn paste chicken wings, this is coated with something else, just the right crisp on the outside, you can hear it when your teeth goes through them, meat was quite tender. The korean BBQ pork/beef was normal, nothing fantastic.




Then if you think you need more, you just order again from the order sheet. From the sheet, there are more stuff like prawn dumplings, vermicelli, tomatoes, egg, more balls, etc. There is also dessert, Muah Chee which is not bad, and buffet style if at the end you still can eat it. At $19.90 for dinner with air-con, definitely worth coming back.

Night at the Museum 2

Somehow not that good as the first one, numerous dry moments in the movie but there are really funny ones as well. After his adventure in the first instalment, Larry became the head of Daley Devices, inventing "devices" like glow-in-the-dark flash light, Unloseable Keyring, etc. But he found out that the American Museum of History was under renovation and most of the exhibits are going to be send to the Federal Archives.

So he met "them" for the last night though promised he would speak to the board and persuade to let "them" stay. But next day he got a call from Jedadiah, Owen Wilson, the small guy somehow die die can pick up a phone and dial to Larry. He told him that Dexter which is the monkey took the tablet with them, this spelt problem. This woken Pharaoh Kahmunrah, some guy who kept telling he rose from the dead and going to conquer the world.

Larry managed to get into the basement which holds the archives. Not after he have to tcss with some security guard guy, try to keep awake scene. He did find which container they are being locked into, but Kahmunrah saw it and started their "ben stiller" type of crap meaningless conversation, this one no good. Larry manage to escape with the help of General George Armstrong but himself got captured. Larry met Ameila Earhart and joined him as she is thrilled in hearing this adventure. As they try to escape from Kahmunrah's men, Kahmunrah managed to get help from Al Capone, Ivan the Terrible and Napolean.

While General George is coming up with his great plan "shout attack then really attack", Jedadiah and Octavius sneeked out to help Larry but Jeddadiah got caught and was put into a hourglass. Napolean's men caught up with Larry and Amelia, not after another try to be funny dialogue. Kahmunrah took the tablet but couldnt activate the gate, thus threathens Larry to find the right combination on the tablet if not he will kill Jeddadiah.

Larry got the answer from a group of Albert Einstein Bobblehead. Amelia flew Larry back to the American Museum of History to seek help, which only the Lincoln statue is there, after some tcss they went back. Kahmunrah found out the new code and managed to revive back an army of birdmen but then Lincoln statue charged into the window causing the birdmen to flee back into the gate.


As the rest start to battle it out, Octavius saved Jeddadiah and they started piercing all the shoes of Kahmunrah's men, this scene quite interesting. Then Larry duel Kahmunrah one on one and defeated him with his trusty nightguard flashlight and thrown him back into the gate. 6/10

Land of the Lost

Slow start then the fun and slapstick comes. No need to think since it is a Will Farrell movie, nothing serious but just be there to laugh. Will is Dr Rick Marshall who believes in time warps but of course no one believed him, after his attempt to assault host Matt on his TV show, he was reduced to teaching in a museums where children ask him whether dinosaurs has boobs.

Then came Anna Friel as Holly, a grad who totally believed his theory and urged him to finish his tachyon amplifier which will help to open up a vortex like thingie. Anyway, he did finished it. And together they went to some out of no where desserted theme park to try it out in a cave. Danny Mcbribe as Will was their guide as they boat through the cave, then it happened, sucked through and into the land of the lost. Here it starts its crude humour, sexual innuendoes and slapsticks. Will throughout the movie, became his crap dialogue partner, to some good effect.

Appearing in a dessert, they saved Chakkar, a primate who was being attacked by other primates. As Holly tried to explain to it, in primate language, it sort of understand. The part where she put her hands on her chest and say "Holly" ... well Chakkar replicated the action, but of course his hand on her chest. As they wandered through land, they got chase by T Rex which they managed to escape to a cave.

They seem safe till Rick commented T Rex brain is smaller than a walnut. Rex was pissed and targetting him throughout the movie. Then a creature Enik, tried to tell Rick that some creature Zarn and his Sleestak are taking over the universe, and he need the tachyon amplifier to stop him. Rick believed him and continue to search for the device which he lost in the vortex. To protect himself and out of stupidity sake, he explain to Will and Holly, he had to pour dinosaur urine all over himself, this scene was quite disgusting but funny.

Chakkar offered his help to bring them to an area where little dino feesds on a ice cream truck, of course the ice cream man as well. Then T Rex appeared, worse an Allosaurus also. Somehow he outsmart it and blew it into pieces as she swallowed a nitrogen tank. Out it came, tachyon amplifier but a flying Pteranodon took it. Rick became down and out, Holly and the rest left him. Rick thought through and re-join them as he tried to sing a apologetic tune, unknowingly he was bitten by a giant mosquito which left him with a gigantic swollen bump on his back, the whole scene was really funny.

Then they went to the Pteranodon nest and Rick successfully got the amplifier. They went back to the feeding area where there is a motel. As Rick, Will and Chakkar were drunk, Holly wondered with the amplifer and was caught by Enik. They woke up and search for her, into the Sleestak cave, saw 2 of them trying to makeout, somehow have to have this scene. He did saved Holly but then Rex came, as he tried to beat it but to no avail, ending up pole vaulting into his mouth.

Holly and rest thought he was dead but he returned with him sitting on Rex back, terrorizing the Sleestak. They became good friends after it pooed him out which made its intestinal problem better. Then they stopped Enik but Will chose to stay which sseemingly a wise choice as he met the female primates which Chakkar describe as "ugly". Truth was because they are too human like. but simply beauty for Will. 7/10

Friday Dinner@Straits Cafe

It seems the thermal maasage at lifespa didn't really allow me to eat more at the dinner buffet at Rendezvous hotel. The most important contradicting thing for a buffet is how much variety it has but how much can you eat ? Maybe alot other people can eat lot. I managed to eat a portion of every item with some repeated servings.

The spread is typical with not much surprises. Oysters, salmon sashimi, smoked fishes, cold salads, sushi, poached tiger prawns, mussels, snow crabs about complete the starters/cold section. The smoked salmons are for kidney testing, simply too saltish. I like the romaine lettuce which are very crisp and of course the cherry tomatoes, juicy enough. And they got this mango mayo, something differnt from the 1000 island. A must mention is the poached tiger prawns, one word fresh. Still can remember when I had countless prawns at KL Sheraton, they are peeled and dumped in a bowl for diners to grab.


Oysters .... I like but never ate them alot. These are considered big enough and fresh as well. Had enough cold stuff, now is to the area where they kept the food covered in the "UFOs". They have a small area serving BBQ stuff, items like "am i a prawn ?", squids, scallops and chunks of fish. The quite huge "am i a prawn ?" thingie doesn't taste like prawns, the flesh is much softer, more like crab or lobster but tasteless on its own. The squid are good, huge chunks with the sambal chilli, just the right amount of jaw muscles will do.



The soups are passable. The boston clam chowder taste like from the Hans kitchen. The other soup, some watercress and chicken, didn't try, don't really like watercress.

The "award winning" saved a bit of grace from the soupy section but abit more coconut milk will be better. You can choose either "chu mifen" or "guotiao", then add your own ingredients, fish cake, prawns, eggs, crab roll and squids.


From the hot dishes section, selection is limited. Few good ones are the beef tenderloin with pepper cream sauce, salmon with lobster sauce and steam seabass. The beef is about medium well and succulent, needing you only to bite enough. Salmon is grilled to right doness and skin is crispy but the lobster sauce seems subdued. Others are not even nominated but can mention like prawn fritters with too much flour, pork belly ribs, some ayam thingie and .... nothing much. The cereal prawns, nothing fantastic.



The desserts are usually captivating but no room left for them. The ones that will attract your attention are probably the durian puff, durian fudge cake and durian pengat. The fudge cake is quite good but you should have it before the pengat which probably will immense you with too much durian taste. At 45++ per pax, merchant court ellenborough cafe seems a better choice but now DBS cards gets a 25% off the bill.

Blood : The Last Vampire

It gets lousier as it goes by. Thought the M18 rating could compensate but no, the blood are fake as Saya chopped, slashed and disembered the so called demons into pieces. Saya is the only half human and half vampire left, living to hunt and kill all the demons. Working with a team called council, going around faking as CIA, they aimed to find and kill Onigen, so called the most hiong demon.

She was arranged into a school in an airbase, there she met Alice, daugther the General. As the team started their hunt, Saya saved Alice from 2 students trying to attack her but actually demons. General came by but the team so called managed to cover it. Alice believed what she saw and went to some pub to look for answers, only to be surrounded by demons. Saya came to her rescue.

A smart dick in the team, Andrew wanted to take things in his own hands and killed the general and making it look like his assistant killed him, so they can do things easier their way. Alice saw ther murder, managed to escape and went to find Saya. Andrew give chase, wanted to kill Alice, Michael the so called more senior wanted to stop him but got killed, Saya saved her.

Saya was shot by Andrew but Alice saved her by letting her drink her blood. Onigen, knowing she is near, send some ka kia to capture her but evening fighting on top of a fell trunk suspending in the mid air of a valley, she won. But they fell into the bottom of the valley, as they woke up, Saya found Onigen. She told her she is he lao bu, like Luke found out who was his lao peh. Anyway, she also killed her. 5/10

Terminator Salvation

Another movie that is into his 4th instalment, a 5th one is in the pipe line. Machines continued their intention to take over the world and that means kill all humans. The resistance, a group of army personnel determined to stop the machines. They were led to believe that some signal if used will be able to stop the machines, their tests proved them right. But what John Connor by Christian Bale, didn't know was, it was just a ploy by the machines.

Then came along this Marcus guy by Sam Worthington, a machine but strongly believes he is human, till he saved Williams, a resistance pilot. She brought him back but he accidentally got injured by a mine. The injury revealed his inner machine build, thus got imprisoned. W believed M is good and release him, leading J out to destroy him. He didn't manage to but came to a deal. M promised to lead J to Kyle Reese, a young man now but is J's father.

M went back to the Machine HQ to seek some answers. And he got them, he is a human machine deployed to lure the resistance in, a machine with a pumping human heart. Something which previously no machine could do. M got J in and as he tried to find Kyle and save the rest out. He found a machine, none other than the cameo appearance of Arnold S. While the humans are out, J was still inside and met T 800, the newer, faster and even more hiong machine. He was no match for it, M came along but was knocked unconscious with his heart stopped. But J revived him and M manage to stop the T 800 by tearing off his head, though J was already pierced through by a metal rod.

They escaped with the HQ blown away and ended with M giving J his heart so to save J life. Straightforward machinery action, maybe one day all technology equipments will begin to kill all IT guys. 7/10

Angels and Demons

It thrills though the twist in the end was expected. Maybe shouldn't have anticipated too much, but such stories simply needs a twist in the end. Hanks continued as the man who read and understand religion symbols. Langdon was visited by Vatican police and brought immediately to Vatican to investigate a kidnap of the 4 cardinals who were suppose to stand for election for the Pope.

The perpetrator leaved behind some diagram wordings symbolizing "Illuminati". And vowed to killed each caridinal hourly from 20:00, then the final plan to blow up the whole Vatican, using some stolen "anti matter". A group supposedly made up of people believing and exceling in Science which eventually was so called being forced by the church into becoming a secret society. After some understanding, L requested access to the Vatican archives, so he went with Richter, the swiss guard commander to seek approval from the Carmerlengo, Patrick, the acting head of state since Pope is dead.

Vittoria, one of the scientist that experimented on the anti matter came along. As she and L go through the archives, they found where could the first kill will be. But it was too late, so they race against time to check where the other cardinals could be killed. L knew they will be killed in places symbolizing earth, air, fire and water. P kept urging the cardinals to vacate Vaticans but failed, they wanted to continue their voting for new Pope.

L and rest did save the 4th cardinal and found the perpetrator, just a contract killer who escaped but got blown up in the end. L though P could be in danger, ran from the hideout place which also leads back to Vatican Pope room. They charged in into the room seemingly R trying to kill P, so the swiss guard shot R.

P was lying on the ground with burns on his chest. As he recovered, they searched the place for the anti matter, which they found but V believe it was too late but P snatched it and charged out to the square.

Onto the helicopter and flew off, but parachuted out. The anti matter exploded and caused an huge force surging through out Vatican square. P survived. As the cardinals failed to elect a new Pope, they try to consider P but he was only a Camerlengo and was too young. Then twist came. 8/10

Star Trek

Never watched the series before, such space space thingie never intrigue me. Also, watching men in red spandex, beam here, beam there, beam beam, anywhere here there doesn't really excite. And I think most of the series dialogues are slow and very 琼瑶. But overall this movie entertains, it delivered just enough, with a new cast protraying the series characters when young.

Chris Pine as James T Kirk, while Zachary Quinto as Spock. Both wanted to serve the USS enterprise but with their opposite style, the fiery impetuos James vs the logical and seem calm Spock whom being half vulcan and human was able to control his emotion. And on board a crew of United Nations, even "Harold" got a role as Zulu, the pilot. My friend sweared he saw Kumar also in the movie. Then we have Bones, friend of James who is the medical doctor. Not to mention, the russian whiz kid, his accent adds some funny moments.

He tried to help him to get board one of the 7 ship that was scheduled to fly to Vulcan to save the planet. First giving him a shot to make him ill, thus allowing his own patient on board. Then running around to reverse the effect of this shot. When James found out that, an lightning storm was around when the vulcan incident happened, he charged to warn Captain Pike, this could be a trap set by the Nero, commander of the invading ship.

James did convince the captain but it was slightly too late. They arrived in warp speed then found themselves facing the invading spaceship, they simply couldn't stop them. And captain was have no choice by to go on board the enemy ship. While James and Zulu parachuted onto the spaceship where they need to destroy the thingie that disabled the USS transporter. They did eventually. Then Spock beamed into Vulcan and saved a few old people and his father and mother. But his mother died while was almost being beam back.

Back on ship, James wanted to save the captain while Spock logically rebuted doing that is not possible. Thus, as captain, Spock send James away, he landed in some planet with just snow and ice around. On the planet, he met Spock, not the one that send him here but is the same Spock but came from the future. He gave him some tips on how to handle the invasion.

James went to some USS outpost and found Scotty, beam back to the enterprise with him. Using the what future Spock told him, he became Captain after Spock stepped down as he found himself overtaken by emotion, still filled with anger by his mother death. Anyway in the end, they co-operated and won the battle. 7/10

X-men Origins : Wolverine

It takes you back in time where a boy whose hands can retract extra long and strong claws. No manicurist will do his business. Not really an outright action movie, more of telling wolverine's story. Seemingly borned a mutant, James, he even have a brother, Victor who hungers more. They ran away after James killed his own father, which had killed the man whom James though was his father.

They joined the army. Victor got carried away trying to kill the innocence and killed an officer, James protected him so both were caught. Major stryker took them into his special squad of men having special abilities. Their deeds got more and more out of hand, James walked out while stryker searching for some metal compound.
He did find it years later. And James was living in some canadian mountain with Emma, but stryker need James to be injected with adamantium. Only problem was, he need him to do it willingly.

So he told him someone was out killing people from the old team. Then emma was dead but not really dead, it did bluffed James. He knew it was Victor, he found him but couldnt defeat him.

That drove this anger to the maximum, thus allowing strkyer to inject the indestructible compound into him. It succeeded but before Stryker can erase him memory, wolverine broke free and escape. Stryker send agent zero, some one shot one kill guy, but of course couldnt killed wolverine.

He started to check where stryker and victor were. And found they were in cahoots in the beginning, Victor was capturing mutants for him to experiment, in return he wanted the compound in him too. Wolverine found them on the "island" with the help of Gambit, who never appeared in the other x-men movies. He can manipulate kinetic energy and have powerful card throwing/combat skills.

On the island, he found out Emma did not die and was a mutant too. She didnt meant to ... but her sister was in Stryker hands. Quite a skill she has, can turned hers skin into diamonds. Wolverine freed all the captured mutants. Soon, a battle ensue, strkyer unleashed a not yet finish mutant, which supposedly had a few powers.

Well, he won with some help from Victor but he did get his memory erased when stryker shot him in the head with the adamantium bullets. And Prof X appeared to take the mutants away. 7/10

四月二十日, 星期一, 阴霾

Rare day that I managed to see the sun after I left, to top that, I managed to go for a dip. I need to release some endorphin. My cough seems to be 99.99999 % okay and soon to come, it maybe 100%. Am watching Heroes S3 nowadays, at episode 16, as usual it gives you the "you think you know but maybe not" feel. If I will get to choose a power, not sure which one I will get.

Hmmmm ... flying is too obvious. Most power are upfront destructive, think the mind reading one is good. Need this kind of power to deal with "irrational taunaopai org".
Not to harm anyone physically but sometimes if you wonder how they think, you need to let themselves think themselves.

Also waiting 2 more TVB series, not blockbuster kinds though. Seems to re-like this みらい song by きろろ, old song, trying out the lyrics in jap on the keyboard.

Straightforward action, clean cut and no fuss till you wonder how can it be possible. Liam Neeson as Brian, a retired agent who relocated to be near her daughter, trying hard to rebuild the relationship. Maggie Grace, as Kim was the daughter, now I remember where I saw her before ! She was from the series LOST !

He was surprised when she asked her out for lunch. Truth was, she was below 18, needing him to sign some papers so that she can go to France with her cuz. She also bluffed him that this was actually an art tour, anyway he found out they were chasing U2 around Europe and agreed in the need.

Since it was straightforward no fuss, the girls got into trouble immediately out of the airport. Shared cab with some guy, he dropped them first so to know where they stayed. The girls went up the apartments, just after a while. The baddie came and got the cuz, Kim was in the toilet talking to Brian, as was supposed to call him back daily. She was very scared from that moment, but since Brian was the "almost replaced Tom Cruise in MI series but because of his look" and "almost replaced Matt Damon in Bourne series but because of his age", he taught her step by step what to do.

Bo bian she will be caught but wanted her to provide as much information. So hiding under the bed, the baddie managed to talk loud enough for Brian to get it recorded and also she shouted all possible signs of clues on the baddie physical appearance. Baddie had to get tattoo and must be in visible place, if not you are not a baddie. He repeated the first 2 lines on top when the baddie picked up the mobile phone. Trick was making him to speak into the phone, any words will do. Anyway, he said "Good Luck".

Then came all the hiong hiong MI and Bourne stuff. Brian send across the recorded voice to his friend Sam and from his home, he was able to tell Brian who were the baddie, what they do, how much time he have. Then he flew down and went to crime scene, found nothing much but the memory card on Kim smashed mobile. Left, went to some card reader machine, browse through the card, saw a picture they took, by that airport guy ... His blurred and pixelated image was reflected in something as he took the picture. But this was as clear as HD to a MI/Bourne guy.

Airport couldn't help much as he was lorried as Brian chased him down. So he went to his french police friend for help, he told him not to make trouble.

Gave him some information like where are the places to find the Albanians, the ones who behind the kidnapping.

These Al"same"nians are just the tool used to catch the girls, as he checked, there are more than meet the eyes. His friend was involved too, taking bribes.

He found the Al HQ, went in, impersonating a local police. Plan was to find the actual guy who said "Good Luck". After a short and quite convincing TCSS, they believed him, gave him the $$$. And also made the guy say"Good Luck". His DSP processing told him it was him, so he wiped them out.

In the end, LOST girl didn't get lost this time. Brian saved her after killing a dozens of baddie with no weapon. He might be KungFu Panda as well. 7/10

Waking up early is no easy feat, especially on a non-working day. But then it feels good after a early morning dip, recently it was difficult to swim 3 times a week but at least once still doable. The daming cough is somehow refuse to be leave, it is like 99.8% ... somehow but at least I can finish a song on the keyboard.

Selling Tees at 24.90 and Jeans at 69.90 can make you the richest man in Japan, the numbers doesn't add up, the quantity or profit margin it is getting must be generous. Or probably the richest man in Japan isn't that "rich" but he is worth 6 billion. That is nothing consider how many trillions is needed to save the world. Evisu sells its jeans average $300 to $500, one wonders.

Tampines One is a cross-over between sub-urban malls and ones in orchard. Nobody wants to see the same shops here if they can get it at TM and CS. It is very new and attracting the crowds. Even Playboxx, the game shop just opposite the central area, near the library, upgraded to T1, so not sure if its game is still selling at neighbourhood prices. I got my SF at $85 !

And also you can consider buying the $5,000 ++ recliner from Simmons gallery. The one stop Jap dining area Manpuku, where different restaurants gathered and you dine in "marche" style. Yamazaki at B1 is something new, by Sun Moulin, the popular bakery at Orchard Isetan. It doesn't have an anchor department store though but cold storage takes space in the basement.

Amore Living on the 5th flr has a swimming pool facility, interesting, wonder how one can be allow to use it or maybe need to sign up 10 year, few K package.

Fast and Furious

Couldn't get the $6 tickets at FilmGarde Iluma, should have bought last night and "ps" my friend. Not many movie can goes into sequel, prequel and in-between quel. The F&F series is one of them and has a box office performance of about $700++ millions. Action movie always a favourite and seeing "beef cake and great looking guys, switching gear as fast as superman changed into his underwear and brake, clutch, accelerate like they have 3 feets" seems quite a draw.

This instalment is somewhere between 2 and 3. Toretto is wanted after several hijack of fuel tanks in dominican republic, so he decided to quit. His crew, Han went off to Japan to "film Tokyo Drift". And he left his gf Letty, not wanting to be caught. Then after some time, his sister called him and told him, she is dead. He flew back to LA, of course to avenge her. He went back to the scene where her car met an accident and he seems to "Ki Tung' .. everything that happened, flashed past him.

Brian, now a FBI agent, aiming to bring in some drug lord, Braga which they have no clues about. But his latest info brought Toretto and him together, they enter a race, the winner will be able to be the "drivers" for braga. Toretto won but brian also got to be the "driver" as he made one of the existing driver unavailable. They reached but Toretto got other plans, he blew up the cars and one of the braga guys, Fenix admit he was the one that killed Letty. Brian and him were overpowered but manage to escape with the goods. With the goods, Brian wanted to get Braga, asking to deal in person. But his FBI colleagues screwed up, got the wrong guy. But anyway, they did get the right man in the end and Toretto killed Fenix, with his car of course. 7/10

Last minute booking for my humble house at esplanade failed, somehow kept forgetting to make reservation, too many crap things at work. I think the UOB 1-for-1 lunch buffet promo is quite popular. Anyway, went to Victor's kitchen with parents and bro. Not the first time there, dim sum there quite good, for their prices. Then went to 记得吃 to get my 姜汁撞鲜奶, still good and expensive.

My 1 week old PS3 is under utilized. Added value of it able to stream my Heroes, Lost and PB from my PC to my LCD TV. Too bad, somehow it doesn't support real media. PES 09 still as good but now with great graphics, though the online play still edgy. Civilization Revolution quite fun, a world conquering game less the complication. Thinking whether to get Street Fighter ....

Finishing my 学警狙击, at episode 23. Some twist in twist in epi 18, 19 but the plot seem died down, now waiting for some more twist, doesn't seem to be coming.

Fanboys

Fanboys is quite entertaining B-grade Kumar goes to white castle kinda of movie but with a more specific theme. Set in the 90s where a group of Star Wars fanatic friends embark on their journey to the Skywalker Ranch to catch Episode 1 months before the premiere. Nobody cares about the plot when your movie name is Fanboys but the cause was because Linus was cancer stricken.

So off they go ... Eric, Linus, Hutch and Windows. For apparent reason, this nerd character was named windows. But he was the one who gets the girl, Zoe, the electric girl from Heroes. It is a 90 mins show, so along the way ... quite enough stuff to keep the mood going. And also windows soughted help from some online friend who seemingly knows how to get into the skywalker ranch.

And hutch did a detour to square off with a bunch of star treks fans. Fight broke out as insults hurls in both directions, but saying "Hans solo is a bitch" ignited it all. They escaped but the hutch van broke down and gotten some help a chief from a gay bar. Van was fixed so off they go but windows online friend who was suppose to be a cross between sarah michelle gellar and janeane garofalo ... was actually a 10 year old kid. Her uncle came to bash them up ... but believed them after they answered his "10 years series" star war fans questions.

So they were told to go to Vegas to meet this guy who will gave them the stuff they need to get into the ranch. They did ... but not before going to the police station. Zoe bailed them out and followed them to Vegas. They got their stuff, met some escorts and got blackmailed by a star war fanatic gangster .... and the star treks fan were also there ... Even the gangster cannot stand "No one calls Hans Solo a bitch"

They go to the ranch ... went in ... went awe with the star wars items ... got caught. But were let off after answering some "10 years series" questions again ... but these time all kinds of sex questions went in ... it is NC16. So only linus got to watch the movie ... and he passed away along the journey back. 7/10

WatchMen

It was a struggle to watch this. At almost 3 hours and with an on and off low tone coarse voice narration, it didn't help. Based on the 12 parts DC comics, don't think the movie will be a hit with the mass. Story revolved around a doomsday clock, which was permanently set 5 minutes before midnight. But actually, the doomsday is about the impending war between US and Soviets.

Then it added another layer of mystery when one of the costumed superheroes was killed, the comedian. This sparked off the whole movie and followed by the world longest starting credit, really getting on my nerves. Since he was killed at the beginning, he appeared through the movie in flashbacks.

But even those alive ones, also flashbacks, I though I was watching LOST. Rorschach, the mask hero started to investigate, he wore a mask somehow have ink blots shifting around. He tried to warn Nite Owl, Dr Manhattan and Silk Spectre. Dr Manhattan seems to be the only one having super powers due to a freak accident. He donned a blue skin and can disintegrate anything, even himself. Silk Spectre was his love but left him when found out he seems to be losing his human touch.

She went to Nite Owl and stayed with him. As Rorschach digged deeper, he found himself being setup and thrown into prisons. NO and SS got him out and they found out, all these seems to be the doing of Ozymandias, another hero. He did all these, even causing Dr M to leave for Mars.

His plan was to develop a infinite source of energy which he succeeded. The rest found out but was too late as he already activated the detonation throughout the world but his main objective was to avoid the war between US and Soviet which he succeeded as the world now is united against Dr M. The world thought these energy explosions was his doing.

Dr M agreed to keep quiet but Rorschach didn't, so he disintegrated him. 6/10

又是一个工作的周末, 希望这次比较顺利. 刚看完 WatchMen, 有一点失望, 还该说是期望太高. It was just too dark, too much talking, too boring narration, too much flashback, too much too. Life 给了两颗星, 是乎给多了, 差不多三小时的戏, just too heavy on a friday night, after losing so much neurons at work.

The thai horror is opening next week, looks quite promising. The damn chronic cough is back, it always stays for quite a while. 嗨, 这咳嗽几时才走, I can't eat my ice creams, can't sing and play my keyboard, 总的来说， please go away.

Started on last season of Prison Break, quite intriguing but getting more impossible as it goes along, Michael just too smart. And Sarah is back to make Michael happy or motivate him or even worse, to become a liability ?
